FIRO Awareness Scales.

The FIRO scales are derived from Schultz's 'three-dimesional theory of interpersonal Behaviour" and
are intended to evaluate interpersonal relationships from the point of view of the respondent. They
measure the relative strength of needs within the individual rather than comparing the individual to a
population. The basic dimensions evaluated by the scales are the interpersonal needs for inclusion,
control and affection. In most cases these are measured in the areas of behaviour or feeling, or both
with Guttman-type scales to explore both desired feelings and expressed feeling.

Frostig Developmental Test of Visual Perception.(DTVP.)

Evaluates children referred for learning difficulties or neurological handicaps by assessing perceptual
skills. Test of five operationally defined perceptual skills: eye-motor co-ordination, figure-ground
perception, constancy of shape, position in space and spatial relationships. The test is correlated with
reading achievement in a normal first grade classroom.

position.Three of the tests measure reasoning processes. The fourth test is designed to test the ability to

Designed as a self administered screening test aimed at detecting psychiatric disorders among general
medical outpatients and those in community settings. Focuses on two main areas: inability to carry out
normal functions and the appearance of new and distressing phenomena. Three forms-GHQ-60,GHQ-
30 (a short form) and GHQ-28 are available.GHQ-28 provides separate scale scores for somatic
symptoms, anxiety and insomnia, social dysfunction, severe depression for research studies requiring
more than one severity score.
